Bob Cox welcomes you to his ‘Searching for Excellence’ website.  ‘Searching for Excellence’ offers experienced, professional support for coaching and the development of cross-curricular learning in schools.  Bob has been a consultant for twelve years and an independent one for the last seven of them.  Since becoming a freelance educational consultant, Bob has supported a range of schools cross-phase.  He has delivered inset at national, international and county conferences in England and Europe, often in a leading capacity.  He has supported GCSE children, learners, child lecturers, lesson managers, middle leaders, management, masters, parents, students, in almost 450 schools in their “search for excellence”.  Bob’s most popular briefs recently have involved ‘Pitching High’ key-notes, support for mastery learning, inspiring more able learners and a whole range of strategies connected with his ‘Opening Doors’ books (click here for further information).  Bob’s ‘Opening Doors to Quality Writing’ books have won an award in the ‘educational book’ category at The Educational Resources Awards!  Please click here to see the ‘Opening Doors’ page for more details, and click here to link through to Bob’s successful and incredibly supportive publishers, Crown House.  Bob Cox runs courses exploring how to use a Murder/Mystery ‘WhoDunIt?’, and one about the 1966 world cup called “The Timeless Zone: A Return to ‘66” (an Enrichment Experience Day including topics such as history, Twiggy and Time Travel) inspiring leadership.  Bob has been associated with and given Able GT inspiration to the British International School, the Oxford Brookes University, the Parent Teacher Association, Frances Gregory, GTUpdate, the Tribal Group, local authorities, Barry Hymer, NACE, the NACE Challenge Award Conference, Peak Consultancy, National Challenge School, Pauline Patterson, primary and secondary schools.  Bob has been an English teacher for 23 years and Head of English for 13 of them.  Bob Cox has written resources designed to encourage challenge in the class and classroom and, as an advanced skills teacher, he delivers writers' workshops to both pupils and teachers around the country. Bob’s most popular briefs recently have involved supporting the journey to outstanding, differentiation, coaching of teachers and gifted/talented education. His pioneering work on challenging English has been popular across the UK and in Europe.  There are now thousands of schools using Bob’s ‘going deeper’ strategies!  Bob and his team would like to work with you on an exciting journey using all kinds of quality reading – picture books, children’s fiction and literary classics – to stimulate quality writing.  We want to help spread the use of quality texts, poetry and literature in primary schools and across the transition phase to KS3!
